Once upon a time, there lived a giant called Raoul. The epitome of evil, he possessed magical powers that made him even more fearful than he already was.
Raoul lived in a castle on top of Catastrophe hill. Far and wide, people feared the giant. Rumors of his castle being enchanted had spread like wildfire. Anybody who dared to venture near the castle never came back. People said they were turned into rocks, chairs, utensils, anything the giant fancied.
One day, Jonathan, the wood cutter's son, wandered deep into the forest. As he tried to find his way back, he saw the castle from a distance. Curiosity got the better of him, and despite seeing the huge signs warning trespassers to keep out, he ventured towards the castle.
As he was nearing the castle gates, he was captured in a magical trap set by Raoul. The giant, after returning from a hunt, caught hold of him & decided to turn him into a golden egg & placed him in his kitchen shelf among other things that were spell bound.
To regain his human form and break the giant spell, Jonathan must escape from the castle.
